Primary Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive and accurate production cost estimates for sales inquiries for the manufacturing of railcars
Maintain production routings for railcars in ERP system
Report on variances on routings between estimates and actuals
Develop analysis and report on estimate BOMs to actual production costs
Develop production cost estimates of alternate configurations
Incorporate expected efficiencies from capital investments into railcar routings
Work closely with plants, engineering, and purchasing for develop current costs for railcars
Work with plants to develop new routings and maintain current hours for operations within routings for new car manufacturing
Assist in estimating non-standard projects
Assist in a variety of analysis and special projects as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Accounting, or relevant field
Two (2) years of relevant and applicable work experience preferred
ERP system experience preferred; however not required
High degree of technical competence regarding manufacturing, fabrication and assembly preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, and preferred high proficiency with MSExcel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
Must have the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of employees & subject matter experts
Must be able to organize and complete all aspects of the job in a timely and accurate manner.
Must possess the ability to work independently to successfully complete assignments
Must be a "self-starter"
Must be innovative and have good work ethics
Excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to keep up with deadlines
Ability to focus and do analysis on the computer for extended periods of time
