Job Summary:
This position reports to the Manager Cost Accounting and will be responsible product costing, as well as other functions within our finance and accounting team for our Greenbrier ARI business unit.
Primary Responsibilities:
Preparation of analysis of variances with relationship to materials to properly reflect correct inventory values on balance sheet.
Prepare escalation of material and surcharge analysis
Prepare in process profitability analysis of orders
Prepare post close profitability analysis of orders
Preparation of standard labor rates, labor hours, and overhead rates to actual for analysis.
Preparation of analysis of applied overhead, material overhead absorption of surcharges and freight to material standards.
Maintain standard surcharges, vendor freight, and intra/intercompany freight in ERP system.
Complete monthly rolls of railcar standards and quarterly rolls of all inventory standards.
Preparation of analysis of changes in inventory values from standard roll process.
Assist in developing estimates for new car standards
Assist in review process for internally produced parts
Assist in developing work center standards
Assist in a variety of analysis and special projects as needed
Must be able to work under deadlines and pressure
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA a plus
Minimum of two years of experience in Accounting
Experience with SAP and MS Dynamics or other ERP systems preferred
High degree of technical competence regarding manufacturing, fabrication and assembly preferred.
Must have the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of employees & subject matter experts
Must be able to organize and complete all aspects of the job in a timely and accurate manner.
Must possess the ability to work independently to successfully complete assignments.
