SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading the quality assurance program at the respective GBW Railcar Services LLC facility. The Quality Assurance Manager implements and maintains processes in accordance with the GBW Railcar Services, LLC. Quality Policies and Procedures, Association of American Railroads ("AAR"), Manual of Standards and Recommended Practices, Specification for Quality, and related AAR rules and technical standards. The Quality Assurance Manager is also accountable for achieving targets established for customer satisfaction and profitability by improving quality and service delivery. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for creating, reviewing, analyzing, accepting or rejecting, as applicable, reports for nonconformance data with a focus for continuous improvement. The Quality Assurance Manager must participate in AAR, FRA, Customer or Internal Quality Assurance facility audits and certification events.
Duties and Responsibilities

*Participates and supports Widely Important Goals (WIG)
*Manages, mentors, coaches, and trains team members
*Leads improvement initiatives
*Leads Quality Team communication
*Ensures implementation, oversight, and management of the Quality Assurance Program on a site level basis
*Leads customer visits & audits
*Manages internal/external audits
*Evaluates quality workload demands to determine adequate resource allocation to support facility Quality Assurance
*Serves as Change Management Leader
*Ensures process nonconformance's (PNC) are accurately entered/reported into the PNC Intelex application
*Analyzes process nonconformance data
*Leads and participates in continuous improvement opportunities resulting from PNC data analysis
*Supervises and coordinates activities for Inspections
*Ensures adherence to GBW safety policies and procedures
*Recommends promotions and other personnel changes; conducts performance reviews
*Contributes to the overall performance from the standpoints of safety, quality, profitability
*Performs other duties as required
*Manages in-process inspection and final inspection audits to ensure compliance with quality program
*Facilitates root cause and corrective action processes with cross-functional operations team
Identifies improvement opportunities for GBW procedures and practices and communicates details to the Corporate Quality Manager
Ensure all required customer regulatory and GBW standards, specifications and instruction are maintained
Evaluates and coordinates with the Plant Manager and Functional Leaders the operational and quality training needs
QUALIFICATIONS

In compliance with FRA regulations and AAR MSRP Section J team members must successfully complete the following training and become certified within 90 days of hire or job transfer and on a three year recurring basis:
*GBW Quality Assurance Program
*GBW Hazmat, General Awareness, Function Specific, and Security Training (Tank Car Facilities)
Must successfully complete the following training:
*Root Cause Corrective Action
Education and Experience
*High School diploma, college degree (associates or bachelors) preferred in engineering, operation, technical, or related field or equivalent experience. Extensive knowledgeable of transportation regulations.
*Preferred: A minimum of 5 years' rail car inspection, test, and repair experience. Previous supervisory experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Working Conditions
*Heavy Industrial Environment
*May work around a multitude of hazardous chemicals / wastes through the supervision / execution of yours and your teams' daily duties while repairing railcars which may be in open or OSHA permit required confined space
*Thorough understanding of the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS's), company safety policies / practices, and proper use of identified PPE which may involve protective clothing, sleeves, hard hats, foot protection, eye / ear protection, respirator use, etc.
*Requires long periods of standing; walking, bending, stooping, climbing, twisting, and entering into confined spaces and elevated surfaces
*Lifting up to 50 lbs. or more to accomplish work tasks around heavy moving equipment
*With the exception of clerical, administrative, and some management positions, which require indoor work, the physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid and dusty conditions
*Travel is required approximately 15% of time
