Prepares the materials and parts piror to blasting and painting. Operates sandblasting equipment to clean, remove corrosion or other contaminants on materials. Applies coat of paint to exterior surfaces of marine barge using a variety of tools including airless spraygun and related equipment. Ensure complete surface coverage designated in the specifications. Other tasks as assigned.


  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Previous industrial sandblasting or painting/spraying experience strongly desired

  • Proven experience working in a heavy industrial environment preferred

  • Ideal candidate possesses the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers

  • Motivated to continuously improve and learn new skills


Day, Swing and Graveyard Shifts available. Shifts are M-F, 8 hours per day. Overtime may be required depending on production needs.


  • Will be required to stand continuously, repetitively grasp, push or pull with hands, frequently walk, bend, squat, and/or twist. Walk up ladders and/or scaffoldings (must be comfortable with heights) and work in small confined spaces

  • Capable of frequently lifting up to 50 pounds for the duration of an 8-10 hour shift

  • Capable of wearing hard hat, safety clothing, ear plugs, and safety goggles (prescription googles provided) up to 10 hours per day

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment including respirators

  • May be required to handle hazardous materials and waste (will be trained on proper handling of materials)

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions

  • Comfortable working in an environment that contains dust and loud noises
