Procure materials required to support all Greenbrier Manufacturing Operations in accordance with company guidelines, goals, and objectives.
Purchase materials for production requirements.
Follow established procedures, practices, and policies.
Coordinate material specification and requirements with engineering, production, and planning departments.
Conduct research to identify qualified vendors and develop new sources.
Research and analyze available information to determine the most cost-effective sources.
Obtain quotes and review proposals to ensure compliance to required specifications.
Negotiate, award, and place orders as required
Coordinate replacement of defective material, overages, or short shipments.
Track supplier performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
2 years of related work experience preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft applications
Experience with an ERP system
Strong communication, analytical and time management skills
Ability to estimate material costs
High level of accuracy and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Self-motivated; ability to work well in a team environment
Demonstrate integrity and ability to effectively manage vendor relationships
Ability to maintain objectivity and confidentiality
