Job Summary & Essential Functions: Coordinates the plant quality assurance activities, sets up and establishes quality assurance methods and processes for inspection and test activities, recommends improved methods and processes, ensures that tools and supplies are available, helps maintain a high quality of workmanship, and maintains routine contacts with support groups.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Coordinates quality assurance department activities by planning manpower requirements and by assigning employees to appropriate quality assurance projects to support production.

• Helps set up quality assurance methods and processes to facilitate production.

• Recommends new or improved maintenance methods and techniques and helps coordinate such approved changes.

• Ensures that necessary quality assurance tools and supplies are always available to the department employees.

• Works with quality assurance staff to assist employees in maintaining a high level of quality workmanship.

• Maintains routine contact with support departments to keep them aware of manpower needs, personnel actions, and pay issues.

• Ensures that safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained.

• Performs other duties as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager.

Required Experience / Education / Training / Certifications: Prefer an associate's degree or the equivalent and at least four years' experience in quality assurance with knowledge of inspection methods and procedures, manufacturing processes, and product and materials specifications, including two years' supervisory experience.
