The Welder Arc Burner position is responsible for removing gates and risers from steel castings according to safe, predictive and productive processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

*Stand for long periods of time, performing side-to-side motion while grasping an electrode holder (approximately 20lbs) (electrode holders consist of a copper electrode head, 4 each 4/0 welding cable, air hose, and a 14 x ¾" electrode)

*Remove gates and risers, clean, and repair castings using the above-mentioned equipment

*Use an air hoist to move castings onto the Arc table

*Lift castings weighing 5-40 lbs. to and from the Arc table when unable to secure them to the hoist

*Remove slag from work area at the end of shift.

*Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision

*Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

*Follow directions of supervisor

*Responsible for the proper use and care of SWSCC equipment

*Understand and abide by the policies, procedures, and standards of SWSTL and/or Greenbrier Companies

*Performs miscellaneous duties as required.
