SUMMARY

The general helper position is responsible for performing manual duties related to maintaining the grounds, facilities, and equipment according to safe, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

*Perform a variety of manual duties as directed (i.e. shop and yard areas, clean walls, floors, and equipment).

*Pick up and move sand, scrap materials, and trash.

*Load and unload trucks (manually or with material handling equipment)

*Must successfully complete the SWSTL forklift certification course.

*Move materials to production or warehouse areas.

*Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties

*Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision

*Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

*Be responsible for the proper use and care of SWSTL equipment.

*Keep work area clean and orderly

*Follow directions of supervisor

*Understand and abide by the policies, procedures, and standards of SWSTL and/or The Greenbrier Companies (GBX)

*Other miscellaneous duties as required.
