This position will work closely with Company business units and leadership. This role will build relationships with global business teams and work collaboratively with corporate tax colleagues and within non-tax cross-functional teams. Manager will be responsible for preparing income tax provision workpapers, preparation and review of elements of the consolidated return and estimated tax payments; supporting tax examinations; researching tax issues; and advising on projects.
Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returns and estimated tax payments.
Assist with and support the preparation of quarterly and annual global income tax provisions.
Manage special projects as necessary which may include transfer pricing, tax basis calculations, R&D tax credit, and state nexus analysis.
Identify and assess tax process improvement and automation opportunities; develop, plan and lead implementation.
Support tax examinations by federal, state, and local tax authorities
Monitor changes in corporate tax legislation and US GAAP; provide support for and communicate significant changes, implications and risk to the business
Monitor and ensure SOX compliance with tax team and internal audit
Specific Job Skills
Candidate must have the ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing, and work effectively with all levels of the Company, with external consultants and taxing authorities. Candidate must have strong analytical and interpersonal skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities concurrently. Manager will be able to mentor, train and develop staff. Candidate must be able to work under deadlines and pressure with the ability to make sound decisions and solve complex problems under conditions of uncertainty and in situations with limited standardization and alignment.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience with a national or regional accounting firm or in the tax department of an international, publicly-traded corporation required; manufacturing and leasing experience a plus.
Advanced knowledge and experience of global income taxation and accounting for income taxes under ASC 740 required.
Previous demonstrated leadership experience and project management required.
Proficiency with CorpTax and MS Dynamics or other ERP systems preferred.
