The Greenbrier Companies is seeking to on-board a full-time Business Intelligence Analyst. This role is responsible for structuring the strategic design and maintenance of business intelligence applications. The role also ensures that the use of business intelligence enhances business decision making capabilities. This role will help define our global business intelligence approach, focusing on data discovery and definition, report generation, analytics, and tool administration. The resource will also be involved in all aspects of business intelligence development including design, data modeling, implementation, and testing. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of leveraging analytics and business intelligence, driving for value in a collaborative approach.
This role requires exercising good judgment, demonstrating initiative, and discretion, and leading with appropriate urgency to make decisions with a blend of cultural fit, and facts following a proven approach.
Empower business units to access and consume Greenbrier data
Work closely with the Enterprise Architect in designing and building Greenbrier's Business Intelligence platform
Contrast and compare technology, hosting, and licensing options
Function as liaison between IT and users, utilizing both business and technical knowledge
Collaborate with business units to generate relevant KPIs, dashboards and other visualizations
Allow business units to self-serve their data needs from trusted data sources
Optimize solutions for performance and security
Qualifications and Experience:
Undergraduate degree from an accredited four year program, preferably in computer science or a related area of study or equivalent experience
4+ years of enterprise level report writing
2+ years of Microsoft Power BI experience
1+ years of self-service BI experience
Ability to quickly understand complex data sets
Data manipulation and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail and concern for order and quality
Good research skills, including the ability to talk to end users and product owners
Traditional warehousing/ETL knowledge
Tabular and Multi-Dimensional modeling concepts
Experience working with SSRS or other similar reporting tools.
Solid relational and non-relational database experience.
