SUMMARY
A Welder II will have working knowledge of intermediate welding principles, certification in two or more welding processes, and performs quality welding processes within standards and tolerances.
Duties and Responsibilities
*Helps implement the direction of group leaders or other senior employees.
*Obtains and maintains welding certification in two or more welding processes, such as one or more certifications GMAW in with various metals and/or one or more certifications in FCAW with various metals or a combination of both weld procedures.
*Performs the duties as a utility worker and welder I as directed by production group lead or supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
*Knowledge of assigned work area
*Intermediate knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and production systems
*Ability to read, comprehend, and write English
*Ability to perform basic shop math
*Demonstrate Intermediate inspection and measuring skills
*Demonstrate Intermediate knowledge of measuring devices, such as fillet, gauges, and tape measures.
*Ability to read blueprints/drawings fluently.
*Intermediate knowledge of root cause problem solving
*Ability to apply problem sensitivity, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
*Excellent skills in interpersonal relationships, communication, and teamwork.
*Possess good written and oral communication skills
*Work with general oversight
*Demonstrate motivation and initiative
*Highly organized and able to prioritize and manage time efficiently with the ability to handle stress in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
*Ability to work under tight time constraints, handle sensitive data, and multi-task so that deadlines can be met.
Education and Experience
*High school diploma or GED preferred
*Certification in two or more welding processes, such as one or more certifications GMAW in with various metals and/or one or more certifications in FCAW with various metals or a combination of both weld procedures.
*One (1) - two (2) years with Greenbrier or equivalent work history
