Summary
The Senior Accountant performs monthly close duties, analyses, assists in the preparation of internal and external reporting and collaboratively works on process improvement and efficiencies. The Senior Accountant assists with annual inventory counts, other operations related projects, and is primary contact for intercompany reporting and settlements.
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
Prepares elimination journal entries for division consolidations, journal entries and monthly reconciliations for parent company
Assists in the preparation of monthly management reporting
Performs internal control self-assessment testing
Works as liaison between Corporate Accounting and other departments and subsidiaries to assist in improved workflow and accuracy of information
Prepares supplemental schedules for internal management reporting, quarterly and annual governmental reporting and monthly consolidated financial statement package.
Control general ledger of seventeen (17) operating branches and two (2) administrative branches
Qualifications
The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
5+ years’ experience
Proficient knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls
Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Outlook and Word with advanced proficiency in Excel
Ability to learn a variety of computer systems and applications
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Experience with complex consolidations and cash flow statements
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and One Stream
