The Manager Planning & Pricing will work with the Sales & Commercial group, along with Operations and Procurement and external scrap customers, to develop and execute pricing strategy and bid process. This is to include reviewing customer RFQs and generating pricing for customer quotes, analyzing cost and marketing information provided by internal departments and external suppliers, presenting recommendations to managers and commercial group, and analyzing and executing monthly scrap sales bid process.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare all sales quotes and supporting documentation as needed based on input from the sales managers.

  • Research the industry and market, analyze customer habits and behaviors, and determine the optimal pricing to maximize profits, keeping in mind financial goals of the company.

  • Manage monthly bidding process for scrap sales through communication with external customers and working with shops on forecasted volumes.

  • Carefully document and present pricing models to commercial and management teams in response to customer RFQ's.

  • Maintain and update cost estimates database for Wheels and Parts, including updating pricing in internal systems on a quarterly basis.

  • Calculate costs, gross returns, and estimates for various models and reports to present to senior management.

  • Track and monitor various manufacturing inputs for use in economic analysis.

  • Generate estimates and reporting for various production scenarios to meet strategic opportunities.

  • Review RFQ information to independently determine if additional information is needed from the field sales rep or internal departments for use in pricing analysis and recommendation.

  • Interpret contract language to properly apply billing adjustments.

  • Month-end reporting and deliverables as required.

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree or Four years' equivalent experience

  • Three years' of experience in the related area in a lead or supervisory position

  • Two years' experience in procurement or material management

  • Two years' experience in logistics scheduling preferred
