Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
Installs and maintains production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
Provides both emergency repairs and routine service of production equipment during production schedules and downtime.
Performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Diagnoses problems, replaces, or repairs parts, tests and makes necessary adjustments, and detects faulty operations and defective materials, and reports any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Performs a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions including preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Qualifications
The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to work independently.
1 year of experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
Ability to accommodate on-call responsibilities and work overtime when needed to support production staff.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
4+ years of manufacturing experience and 1 year of production maintenance experience.
Experience with Programmable logic controller.
Associates degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
Experience working with and understanding OSHA regulations.
